Malacara Volcano
A half-day excursion during which we explore the eruption of Malacara Volcano on a walk through its volcanic gullies. Taking advantage of the proximity, we also visit the European Space Agency base to see the DS3 antenna.
🧭 The route
🗺 Malargüe history (during the journey)
During the drive from the city to the volcano, our guide narrates the history of Malargüe, its geography, flora, fauna and other topics of interest.
🥾 Trekking through the gullies
On arrival, the guide carries out check-in and hands a helmet to each passenger.
The walk takes between 2 and 3 hours depending on the “P” factor (photos). Difficulty is mostly low with some moderate sections where the guide’s assistance makes everything easy.
During the walk you will learn about the volcanic history of Malargüe, the wildlife that lives in the area and take incredible photographs.
We are the only tourism agency that provides helmets for all mountain activities.
🛸 DS3 antenna — European Space Agency
After completing the walk, we make a detour to the ESA (European Space Agency), where we take a close look at the facilities and the DS3 antenna, used to monitor deep space.
🍷 Wine tasting on the return
At the end of the excursion, a wine tasting at a local wine shop awaits you — or you can take a voucher to use at another time.
